Registered Clinical Counsellor in Langley, BC
Individual, couples and marriage, men’s and co-parenting counselling from my private office in Walnut Grove, with online appointments available throughout British Columbia.
You Are Welcome Here
Whoever you are and whatever has brought you to counselling, you are invited into my office, into my time and into a warm, honest conversation.
You are more than your worst problem. You are a mind that thinks and a soul that dreams. You are the history you bring, the relationships you share, the responsibilities you tend to, and the strengths you carry. These experiences have shaped who you are and the way you see the world.
I want to understand the whole person sitting across from me and what matters to you.
There is no single type of person who comes to see me. I work with people at different stages of life and in different kinds of relationships, each bringing something uniquely their own to the conversation. The pages below introduce some of the people and circumstances I work with most often.
You are larger than the hardest thing happening in your life.
But life’s challenges have a way of dulling the best parts of us. Some of those parts of you may have had very little room to breathe lately. We are going to change that. Together, we can clear some space from the problems of today and take on the possibilities of tomorrow.
We will work on the things that are making life smaller—the thoughts that keep circling, emotions that overwhelm you, experiences that continue to follow you or patterns that keep taking you somewhere you no longer want to go. As those things begin to take up less space, you have more freedom to decide what you want to do with the space that opens up.
Wherever you begin, I am interested in the whole person who arrives and the life you want to build from here. Below are some of the areas I work with most often. You don't need to fit neatly into one of them. They are places we can begin, not definitions of who you are.

About Me
I have been a Registered Clinical Counsellor for two decades, working with thousands of people across different industries, professions and stages of life. That experience has taught me something important: meaningful change grows from straightforward and honest conversations.
My approach is practical. I take established research and therapeutic practice and make it understandable and useful in your everyday life. We focus on what is happening, what you would like to improve and what will help you make progress. I want the time we spend together to matter, and I work to help you create as much meaningful change as possible in the time we have.
Above all, I believe in conversations that are honest, kind and grounded in respect. I will listen carefully, speak plainly and work to understand the world as you experience it. Together, we can explore where you are, decide where you want to go and begin moving toward it.
Therapy That Fits
Therapy that fits you. You shouldn’t have to fit the therapy.
The approach I use depends on you, what you are experiencing and what we are trying to accomplish together. With two decades of experience and extensive training, I can draw from several forms of therapy to shape our work around the person in front of me.
Counselling does not always fit neatly within the boundaries of a single therapeutic approach. Different parts of your experience may call for different kinds of work. We might use EMDR to process something from the past that continues to affect you, CBT to examine a pattern operating in your life today, DBT to build skills for managing difficult emotions or relationships, and Solution-Focused Therapy to define what you want to create moving forward.
Each approach gives us a different way of understanding what is happening and a different set of tools for creating change. Bringing them together allows us to choose what is most useful for the work in front of us while keeping sight of the larger direction we are travelling.
The therapy should fit you. You shouldn't have to fit the therapy.
Explore How I Help →A Life Lived Fully
No matter how difficult the circumstances, the best version of yourself is always available.

You get one life. One turn around this earth and one chance to decide what you are going to do with the time you have. And there are no rewards at the pearly gates for white-knuckling your existence. There is no going back to live it differently—to be kinder to yourself, take the chance you were afraid to take, spend more time with the people you love or make peace with something you carried for far too long.
But while you can’t turn back, you can begin anew. Every morning brings something extraordinary: a new opportunity to become the best version of yourself.
The truth is, you don't yet know everything you are capable of. You don't know where your limits are until you meet them—which ones need to be respected and which ones can be moved. There are versions of your life you cannot yet see from where you are standing today.
My role as a counsellor is to help you create space in your life to discover what those possibilities might be. Together, we can work through the experiences that need healing, reduce conflict, navigate difficult transitions and develop the skills and perspective that make personal transformation possible.
The goal is larger than simply feeling better. It is to help you build a life that feels more fully lived—one with greater peace, stronger relationships, more room to grow and a deeper sense that the life you are living belongs to you.
What to Expect
RESPECT · CONSIDERATION · CONFIDENTIALITY · HONESTY · CURIOSITY · PRACTICALITY
You can expect to be treated with respect and consideration, and for your privacy and confidentiality to be taken seriously. You can also expect me to be honest with you, curious about your experience and practical about what we can do with what we learn.
We will take the time to understand what is happening and use that understanding to decide what might help. Sometimes that means examining a thought or belief. Sometimes it means learning to stay with a difficult feeling, developing a new skill, processing something from the past or making a change in your circumstances, relationships or routines.
What to Expect →Using Benefits for Counselling
If you have extended health benefits, your plan may cover some or all of the cost of counselling with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I work with clients using many of the major benefit providers in British Columbia, as well as a number of smaller and specialized programs.
I am also registered with multiple Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and workplace counselling programs. If you have counselling coverage and aren't sure whether you can use it to work with me, you are welcome to ask.
Extended Benefits & EAPs →A Counselling Space Created With You in Mind
Where you have difficult conversations matters.
My Walnut Grove office was created to give you somewhere private, quiet and comfortable to settle in, close the door and take the time you need.
I occupy the space on my own, creating a sense of calm and privacy from the moment you arrive. There is no crowded waiting room or steady stream of people coming and going. The office is a second-floor walk-up with its own private entrance and dedicated parking directly outside, allowing your experience to remain discreet from the time you arrive until the time you leave.
Inside, the counselling room is warm, comfortable and understated. It was created to feel welcoming—like somewhere you can settle into a chair, exhale and feel at home. Privacy and comfort have been considered throughout, so your attention can stay where it belongs: on you and the conversation you came to have.
If home is where you would rather be, I also offer online counselling throughout British Columbia. You can choose the setting that works best for you and move between in-person and virtual appointments as your needs, schedule and life change.
Ready to Take the Next Step?
You don't need to know exactly what you need from counselling before you begin. You can come with the problem you are trying to solve, the change you would like to make or simply the sense that something in your life could be better.
We can start there.
