About JordanPenner

Greetings and Welcome
I am glad you are here.
Please allow me to introduce myself
Hello, I’m Jordan. I’m glad you’ve come to learn a little about me. Choosing someone to talk to about the difficult parts of your life is personal, and I want you to have a sense of who you’d be sitting with before you make that decision.
For more than twenty years, I have worked with people at the hardest points in their lives: individuals living with anxiety or depression, workers recovering from injury or trauma, couples trying to strengthen their marriage, and parents learning to co-parent after separation or divorce. Their lives and circumstances vary, but what I bring to each conversation remains consistent: kindness, empathy and a willingness to talk honestly about hard things.
I invite you to bring me the heavy things you are carrying: a memory from the worst day of your life, the effects of an injury, or a challenge that is with you every day. You are welcome here just as you are. I will sit with you, listen when the words come slowly, and help carry the load when it feels too heavy. When things feel as though they are falling apart, I can stay steady beside you while we work out what needs attention first.
My Background
Clinical experience
Full-time private practice
I have worked full-time in private practice for many years, helping individuals and couples make sense of difficult experiences and find a way forward. That work calls for careful assessment, honest conversations and a willingness to adjust our approach as life changes. I draw on more than twenty years of clinical experience to give each client thoughtful, consistent care.
Fraser Health
I spent a decade with Fraser Health, including five years in Adult Short Term Care and Assessment. Working alongside psychologists, psychiatric nurses and other therapists, I assessed complex mental health concerns and helped determine appropriate care. I also contributed to a BC pilot coordinating mental health services with social development and corrections. During my time with Fraser Health, I completed three years of training to become certified in dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).
Addiction
I spent several years as a primary treatment counsellor at a private residential recovery home, supporting people through treatment, setbacks and the ongoing work of recovery.
Children and families
Through Options and the Centre for Childhood Development, I worked as a behavioural interventionist and assessed children in their homes, schools and activities. That work shaped the family systems perspective I bring to counselling today.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Education and training
I earned a master’s degree at Trinity Western University, where my studies included child and youth psychology and marriage and family counselling.
My additional training includes:
- EMDR
- High-conflict co-parenting and parent-child reunification
- Family mediation and court reporting through the Justice Institute of British Columbia
Serving Langley
Serving Langley
I have lived in Langley throughout my adult life. My wife and I are raising our two children here. We chose to build our life in this community. I care about this place and the people in it. I am proud to call Langley home and to serve the people who call it home, too.
